We are pleased to announce the application process for the 2008 Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards (GEEA). This program was established in 2000 by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to recognize outstanding environmental performance, programs and projects in the state. Interest and support for this program has grown each year. This year, we are pleased to announce the expansion of the awards to include the Clean Water New Jersey Program category. DEP’s Clean Water New Jersey Program promotes statewide stormwater education to reduce the amount of pollution entering New Jersey’s surface and ground waters. Winners of the 2008 Governor’s Environmental Excellence Awards will be invited to an awards ceremony and press event at Drumthwacket, the official residence of the Governor, in the fall. The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and the New Jersey Corporation for Advanced Technology (NJCAT) co-sponsors this program.
