Public Issues Summit on Responses to Global Warming

A Public Issues Summit on Responses to Global Warming was held at The College of New Jersey on April 29, 2008. This event was part of a series hosted by the Leadership in Public Affairs program at TCNJ and it marked the beginning of the current ongoing project on climate change.

Approximately 100 people participated in the summit, drawn from the communities surrounding TCNJ and the campus itself. Feedback from the event demonstrated a clear desire for a means to connect to people and organizations active in this region on the issue, leading to the creation of green31.net and related events.

Material from the summit is available here, especially for those who would like to conduct a similar event in their community. For more information, please contact Bill Ball at ball@tcnj.edu

Available online (all are in PDF format):

A number of deliberative forum organizers have also inquired about how the public issues summits are conducted at TCNJ. A complete collection of documents used in the summit can be found here (pdf).

Following the forum, the issue placemat was expanded into a more complete issue book. The issue book is available for downloading as a PDF file. Feel free to duplicate it and use it for non-commercial purposes. Contact Bill Ball (ball@tcnj.edu) if you would like assistance in organizing a forum using this issue book.).
