Ewing Sustainability Certification Project

During the spring of 2009 the Politics of Community Change class at TCNJ is partnering with the Ewing Environmental Commission to initiate certification for the city by Sustainable Jersey. The public components of this project are accessible through this page.

On April 14, 2009 the Ewing Township Council passed a resolution authorizing participation in Sustainable Jersey. This is the first milestone in obtaining certification for the city. Student projects are contributing research in support of Sustainable Jersey certification in the following areas: community education and outreach, energy audits, green design, green jobs, and complete streets.

Additional reference material can be found though the links at right, especially the details on certification with Sustainable Jersey.

Sites and programs researched for the project will be identified through an interactive map, which is available on a separate page.

A public forum for discussion of sustainability in Ewing, which can be found below is also part of the project. Everyone is invited to participate in the discussion on this forum

The student project will be completed by May 1, 2009 and final materials will be posted to this site shortly thereafter
